This blog might be more interesting if I acutally used my own pictures, but…whatever.
We had our first casting session last night. It ran from 6-9pm and it is amazing how tired I got. We had a pretty steady stream of people come in. We don’t have that many speaking roles for women, so it was a little frustrating to have good actresses come in, but not really have anywhere to put them.
I just sat back an watched the readings. There were a couple of people that I instantly thought for certain roles, but there were many others that will probably end up as extras in the background. Since we didn’t have a huge turnout (it still was pretty good), we’ll probably be able to find something for almost everyone.
We have another casting session tonight and then we have callbacks on Monday.
Today I’m heading over to a local restaurant with the producer and location manager to scout it for a scene. I’m sure it’ll be fine, but I’ll be able to sketch it out to provide more meaningful floorplans.
This weekend is homecoming, so that’ll put a bit of a damper on much of the progress, but the producer and I aren’t huge football fans so we plan on doing some location scouting for the rest of the scenes.
