I spent most of work on Thursday at the Peace Corps website. I even filled out about half of the application. Then I got to thinking. While joining the Peace Corps is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, I realized the real reason I was interested in doing it now was to delay moving to LA. I have to admit, I am a bit scared to move to Cali. Not because it is a big city or anything like that (I lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, man), I think it might just be fear of starting my career…and failing miserably at it. I guess everyone has these kinds of doubts when they start their career, but it seems as thought it is a whole lot easier to fail at something like directing than maybe some other things. While I am not talent-less, I still have a whole lot to learn. I am already a little fish and I am about to dive into a really, really big pond.
If I am going to join the Peace Corps, its going to be for the right reasons. Bring on the big pond.
