night shift

So, I got another job, or at least I am very nearly close to getting another job.

Wait isn’t it kind of creepy that they advertise Levitra during Law and Order: Special Victims Unit?

Yeah, about that job. Anthony tipped me off that the Tuscaloosa School system need people who speak Portuguese to tutor elementary students from Brazil. I only have Friday afternoons, but when I called the woman she asked me if I was interested in doing it Friday afternoons. Whoohoo! I have to go in this Friday for an interview but judging from the tone of the woman, it looks like I am set.

It is weird. The two jobs that I wanted while I was in college, I now have (or almost have). Ever since I saw it existed, I wanted the equiptment room job. I work for the people that will write my letters of recommendations. Things seem to be going well so far. The second job I wanted while I am in college was a translating job. I have almost no opportunity to use my Portuguese and this will give me an opportunity to. Now I wouldn’t want these jobs forever, but while I am in college, heck yeah.

I think I am going to try and ride this wave of occupational good fortune and try and get an internship this summer. I am looking at Hunter Films, but I am going to ask my advisor to see if it is a worthwhile internship, but if so I am going for it. It is unpaid, but so are almost all internships in this field. Dude, I am going to be so poor.

I spent most of the day at the temple. I got trained to do something that I’ve never done before and the guy was like, “I think you are good to go for the next session.” Holy crap. So I do work the next session and it actually goes pretty good, but dang, weird. Even though I had to wait around for and hour and a half or so, it was still a good day at the temple. Considering what a nightmare it was the last time I went through a session, it is amazing what a good day I had.

After the session our ward cleaned the temple. It was my first time. There wasn’t much to do since there was meetings going on in the temple and there were several places that we didn’t clean and there was a lot of us there to clean. After a did a few random things, I kind of wandered aimlessly around and it was weird to be able to just walk around wherever. After the aimless walking I saw that one of the sealing rooms was empty so I went in there to vacuum. So it was just me in a sealing room with the the cool mirrors and poofy kneeling things and the vacuum. Just cool, man.
