i’m in your lava tubez, clogging ur internetz

Yesterday was fun. Sarah, Nate, and I used each other as excuses to skip most of church and we headed up to the lava tube caves near Flagstaff. It was basically just a whole in the ground from the surface, but as you went down in it it leveled out and became a bit less rocky. It was pretty cold. According to the sign. It is 32 degrees near the entrance, but as you go further back it warms up considerably. And by considerably, I mean 50’s-ish.

It was my first time in a cave of any sort and I was surprised by how little echo there was. At the end of the cave, we shut off our lights and were quiet and the silence almost hurt my ears. I can easily see how someone would go very crazy very quickly in such a condition.
After the lava cave we went to a scenic overlook of the cave on the way to Sedona. Very cool. We weren’t there for very long, though. You know. After about 5 minutes, it’s not like the canyon is going to change. We went back to their place where Nate had made some great boneless ribs and we just vegged out the rest of the night. My friends are awesome (all of them).
