totally unaware

Thanks to everyone that called to check up on me last night. I didn’t even realize that the weather was as bad as it was. I was up in the north part of town playing Rock Band at a friend’s house. This morning as I check CNN, I am kind of amazed. I was having a conversation with someone not so long ago about how rare it is that tornados hit the downtown areas of cities – it usually seems to concentrate on the outlying areas. Well, apparently that is not 100% accurate, or at least we just experienced the “rare”.

Reading the CNN article is pretty interesting. According to it, people in the Georgia Dome at the SEC Finals (which I had no idea was going on – you know me) saw the roof of the dome ripple because of the storm. While I know that the dome is made of some less-than-rigid material, that would still be creepy to see. CNN has tons of video because, well, the storm hit the CNN center as well. Every reporter, cameraman, and intern probably was sticking a lens out the window.

According to the article, the tournament will continue today at the Georgia Tech coliseum in “Atlanta’s undamaged midtown”. That’s me. Undamaged Midtown.

We were watching the game last night and saw the dome ripple. It was really weird. It postponed the game 50 minutes. I thought about you last night. Didn’t call, but thought about you. That counts right?
