ok, i realize that this is random…

but whatever.  So I’ve recently come to realize that the resting postition for my tongue is for it to be pressed up against the top of my mouth.  Is it like that for everyone?  I would assume that people’s tounges would let gravity take its course and rest gently at the base of the mouth.  The main problem with this is that apparently when I exercise or concentrate on something intensely, I unconsciously press my tongue against the roof of my mouth so hard that the top of my mouth gets sore (as it is right now).  Once again, I realize how random all this is, but what the crap?

Yeah, mine is pressed against the top of my mouth and I get sores a lot up there. So, you’re not alone.

  2. I never noticed, at rest I guess it’s just in my mouth not one way or the other, when I concentrate really hard I think it’s out of my mouth. Here’s one for my book of stupid moments I started typing noticed like knowtist and then I did noticest and then I was like what the crap is wrong with me…I didn’t have to look it up though that good…right?

Yeah, mine is too. I think it’s like that for everyone. sometimes I’ll try to pry Skyler’s mouth open for medicine or something, and I move his lips, and I can see his tongue resting on the top of his mouth. And yeah, thanks for making me think about it cause now it’s bugging me.

  4. Mine sits with the tip at the bottom of my front teeth…but that’s because ever since I first learned how to sing, I was told to have it there so it was out of the way, so I learned to keep it there. Otherwise mine too would probably be at the roof of my mouth…but I never have had a sore roof of my mouth before…

  5. Mine presses against the top of my top teeth and the very front of the roof of my mouth. Way to make things complicated eh? I think I started doing that because I clinch my teeth at night when I’m sleeping, and in an effort to stop tried putting my tongue between my teeth… that didn’t work for sleep.
Yesterday after reading your blog- I also realized (and almost wrote about it) that I flare my nostrils when I’m carrying something really heavy too. Do you do that?
