Okay, I’ve liked him for a long time, but Ang Lee is absolutely amazing. I just got finished watching Eat Drink Man Woman. I have to admit that I was worried that I would be bored until it got to the part where the old guy started making the little girl’s lunch and all the kids in her class started making requests. Then it just snowballed from there.
What I would like to know is why do amazing foreign directors make crappy American films. The Hulk sucked. And Walter Salles. Dark Water. Dark Water! He is so much better than Dark Water! Sometimes Americans suck (at least when it comes to movies).
