Open Office 2

I guess that isn’t true.

I hate this paper.

I sat down and tried to write a little. I couldn’t even get a couple of sentences down. I changed the title three times. This paper is so dumb.

Another reason why I hate this paper is that whenever I have something to do (especially if I don’t want to do it) I can’t focus on doing anything else. Everytime I start something else, I am thinking that I really should be working on my paper. I usually end up doing nothing. Or doing nothing that is “related” to my paper.

Which brings me to OpenOffice. So, I don’t have the $130 to buy the student version of Microsoft Office. So I find out that OpenOffice has a new version out. For all intents and purposes, OpenOffice is just as good as MS Office, but it is free. It even includes a database program which most people don’t use, but I’ve been thinking about creating a database and logging all my miniDV tapes that I have in a pile next to my DVD player.

One caveat: OpenOffice’s word processor has a spell check, but no grammer check. I have a problem writing in the passive voice on papers. I need grammer check. So after that whole OpenOffice plug…I’ll be using Word.
