postmark deadline

Wednesday. I have to have everything ready by Wednesday.

I have to write a professional statement. I hate writing things like this. You have to show passion yet not get crazy, you have to show that you know what you are talking about yet not sound arrogant, you have to tell them in 300 words why they should pick you for their internship instead of the thousands (or at least high hundreds) of other kids who apply and for some reason “I really, really want it,” doesn’t work. Lame.

I still lack one of my letters of recommendation – but I’ll be able to get that in the next couple of days. Last time I got my rejection letter May 6. I don’t really blame them for not picking me last year. I had no real credentials whatsoever. It’s not all that different this year, but I have a little better shot. Since last year I’ve directed two shorts – one very nearly executively produced by Tom Cherones, I also have PAed on a music video shoot. Basically, I’ve learned a ton. We’ll see what the internsip people think.
