another meme

photo fiction: yellow

So, instead of writing a real post, I decided to do a meme. Again.
1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
Got an apartment, real job, life.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year’s resolutions? Do you expect me to remember that far back? Like I make resolutions anyway.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Like on Marta? Oh, close as in emotionally. Well, I’m Mormon, so the answer would be affirmative on that one.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Not a busy year death-wise for me.

5. What countries did you visit?
(sigh) No countries visited.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Indepedent wealth? If not that, then maybe a Wii.

7. What day from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Things don’t “etch” in my memory, they are written with dry-erase markers by a lefty who drags his hand across the board as he writes.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Job.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Having a fairly negative attitude. Well, I’m sure I failed at something worse, but it probably was caused by the negative attitude.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Lunch with friends. I’m being for real.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Behaviour? Going British are we? I guess Libby, Lindsay, and Rachel for going on missions.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
I really wasn’t a fan of Bush’s unwarranted wire-tapping. That bothered me a bit.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to New York…for a day.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
California 2005, by Phantom Planet. Ironic, I know.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? About the same. Maybe a little sadder.
ii. Thinner or fatter? The same.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer-ish

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Written.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Surfed the internet.

This year? Probably with the fam in Alabama.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
I doubt it.

22. How many one-night stands?
I never stood the whole night.

23. What was your favourite TV program?
Lost, Heroes.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, my hatred is fairly steady.

25. What was the best book you read?
Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Sufjan Stevens

27. What did you want and get?
Job.

Three picture deal with Miramax (so close!).

29. What was your favourite film of this year?
Little Miss Sunshine

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
25 and worked.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Umm, three picture deal with Miramax. Didn’t we cover this?

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Target-chic.

33. What kept you sane?
That’s making a key assumption.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Celebrities are overrated, but Steve Carell is really funny.

36. Who did you miss?
What happened to 35? Bev, Ashley A., Ashley C., Cody, Nichee, heck, even Elizabeth. (Elizabeth, I am totally kidding, congrats on getting married by the way.)

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Several cool people from Northpoint – Ashley, Jenean, Jeniffer, Ashley, etc.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
Even trainwrecks can be beautiful. (We’re speaking in metaphors, here. Actual trainwrecks are very gruesome and horrific.)

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
“All the glory that the Lord has made
And the complications when I see His face
In the morning in the window.”
“Casimir Pulaski Day” – Sufjan Stevens

What about my marriage? Didn’t that merit celebration? Huh, huh? Hey, am I Ashley A.? Does that mean you miss me? And Elizabeth got married?

I got married TOO!!!! Elizabeth got married?! And, why is Little Miss Sunshine rated R? I want to see it, but yeah, I guess I don’t see rated R movies much these days–ever since A History of Violence…that was a mistake.

Ashley Aynes = Ashley A. so yes you are missed. Sarah, you are missed, too, but the list was getting long. ALSO, Elizabeth is getting married is not already married.

Little Miss Sunshine has swearing and a shot of a porn mag.
