“the mormons” on pbs

It seems as though PBS is taking on the Mormons.

Not really.

At the end of April, PBS’ Frontline and The American Experience is going to air a 4 hour documentary about the church called “The Mormons“. I watched the trailer and I can say it looks very well produced. Judging from the amount of church-produced films in the trailer, it looks like the church gave the documentarians pretty open access. They present current opposing views especially those supporting gay marriage, but their time in the trailer is in small proportion to the historical content. All in all, it seems as though the doc treats the church fairly if not a bit sympathetic.

So, you know, looks interesting.

  1. As long as PBS isn’t just showing the new anti-Mormon movie that was released this week, it should be okay.
I, however, would love to see a street fight between the higher-ups of PBS and some general authorities. That’d be fun
