dangers of violins in the media


My mass communication research professor is Chinese and sometimes has a problem with his English. Instead of “violence” he says it sounds like he says “violins.” Apparantly there is a correlation between exposure to violins and agression in teenagers. Mozart was quite a punk as I understand.

I am growing to like my directing class more and more. Even though I hate the fact that it seems that my work is going to get ripped to pieces (working in groups), I do feel as though I am learning skills that will help me work with actors-even actors that aren’t all that great.

I am unsure what to do about swearing. I am going to have to act in other people’s scenes and I am not sure what my swearing policy is. I’d rather not, but I am also aware that these are other people’s scenes and I can’t really pick and choose which ones I am in. It hasn’t really come up yet, but it probably will. I have the same issue with rated ‘R’ movies. I’d rather not watch them, but I can think of occasions where it would be necessary. It hasn’t been yet, but….
