coming soon to cbs

When I was in Salt Lake City, Libby and I were lounging about watching CSI and we were coming up with crimes that they could use if they were ever to do CSI: Salt Lake.

  1. A fifty year old body is discovered in the Salt Lake – perfectly preserved. (You know, because it is salty).
  2. The mysterious death of a protester leads investigators to the unlikliest of suspects! (I don’t know who, just come up with something.)
  3. Someone is found in a grain silo. Accident? I think not!

OK, that is enough of that.

Yesterday, I had a great day. For the first time in ever I have my grandparents in Idaho all to myself. Since they live in Idaho and I live in Alabama, I’ve never had much time to get to know them. It’s been fun hearing them talk about…well, just about everything. Grandpa rode me on the fourwheeler out to see the new irrigation dealy-o. It is like a big watering windshield wiper – for crops.

The grandparents and I played conasta last night. I think Grandma worries that I’ll get bored, but I’m quite enjoying having next to nothing to do. Grandma won by ninety points – she can be quite the card shark.

We went to church today. I saw Aunt Susan (who tried to get me to go to the singles ward) and Uncle Mike and Aunt Norese. I fell asleep in sacrament meeting while an older couple talked of their snowbirding experiences down in Yuma, Arizona.

I think deep down I am 75 years old.

It was warm yesterday, but it has cooled off slightly. I think it is supposed to start raining tomorrow or Tuesday. I’ll be off to Gardner, MT on Wednesday. I think I’ll loiter a bit in West Yellowstone to see where everything is at.

I have to go to the post office tommorow. I have to mail back the elder’s quorum’s secretary’s keys, because I forgot to leave them. I also have to pay my $150 speeding ticket…stupid ticket.

What I really want to do is take my camera (that reminds me, I need to buy MiniDV tapes tomorrow) and do a personal history interview with grandma and grandpa, but I know how awkward that would make them feel, so I’ll just sit here with my 75 year-old soul, play conasta and complain that this weather is making my knee ache.
