So, taking advantage of my new-ish PC, I decided to go completely nerdy and install Ubuntu Linux. I have to admit that I liked it quite a bit, but it is still not ready for prime time. Installing programs was easy enough with Symbian Package Manager, but I frequently found myself having to go to the Terminal to enter in some command-line mojo to get the thing to work. I experimented with Wine to install some Windows programs, but it was hit-or-miss at best. One thing that was pretty awesome was Beryl, which is a UI theme…ing software thing. Basically it made my desktop look really pretty with Vista-esque effects. In the end, though I went back to windows for three reasons: 1. It just works without much configuration (although I am having issues with my sound card driver again). 2. iTunes 3. Quicken (GNUCash? Um, no).
Pretty nerdy, huh?

Most of that was just blah blah blah to me. And yes nerdy. But Quicken is super cool!
You remember who I’m married to right?
Way nerdy.
If you were really nerdy you’d be operating at run level 3.
