"shut-up!"

So we (Ashley, Me and the Marrieds) went to the Alison Krauss concert at the Fox last night where someone actually told us to shut-up.  Really.

You know that part of the concert where the band rambles in between songs?  Well we were discussing how one of the band members was the singing voice for George Clooney in O Brother Where Art Thou? when the 45-ish woman next to us leaned over and quietly yelled “Shut-up!” … at a concert….  First off, let me say that we were actually already talking in lowered voices … at a concert … and the band wasn’t even playing at the time.

It kind of ruined the rest of the concert for me as I spent the rest of the evening coming up with really nasty things to say back to this unhappy woman.  I was coming up with some good stuff, but then I came up with the perfect thing to say.  When the concert was over I turned to her and said:

ME: “We didn’t realize we were bothering you.”

HER: “Well you were.”

ME: “You could have just told us.  I promise you we would have been quiet.”

She turned around and walked off hopefully burning in her own guilt.  The problem with taking the “high road offensive” is that you don’t get much emotional satisfaction.  I remained focused on it the rest of the evening.

Jerk.

That is pretty weird. Aren’t concerts so loud that they can’t hear you anyways? Stupid lady and her being stupid

What a punk! I can’t believe she said that! She could have removed herself. Did she not notice that probably everyone else that was there was talking too? Or at least I would imagine they were. What a punk.
